PAʻI Foundation Day – Sunday, August 17 (1-4pm)
Experience a celebration of Hawaiian culture, led by facilitators Roberta Uno & Pua Aliʻi ʻIlima o Nuioka:
Hula Performance and Lei-Making Workshops
Oli for Ke Aloha Outrigger Canoe
Canoe paddling talk by Keith, with related hula and storytelling.
Outdoor Activation:
Enjoy traditional Hawaiian music, dance, and stories on the porch, with sound support by DU.
Storytelling:
Featuring Ho’onani: Hula Warrior and Inā Lilo Au i Manu / If I Were a Bird.
Come share food, dance, create, and learn with us! All ages and backgrounds are welcome—no experience necessary. See you on Governors Island!

From Brooklyn: Seasonal ferries operated by the Trust for Governors Island run Saturdays, Sundays, and Holiday Mondays from May 24 to September 14, 2025, from two Brooklyn locations: Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park and Red Hook/Atlantic Basin.
