Jeff Baucom

Jeffrey Baucom (he/him) is a fourth-generation Japanese American from Sacramento, California. He began dancing in high school after a local hip hop instructor introduced him to the street dance battle scene, sparking a lifelong engagement with underground music and dance culture. While studying at Georgia Tech, Jeff served as president of the freestyle dance club Tekstyles, organizing open sessions, workshops, and competitions that bridged the campus community with Atlanta’s broader street dance scene. His primary focus is House dance, and he is a member of Creation Global, an international collective dedicated to preserving and sharing Chicago Footwork and Chicago House culture. Since moving to Hawaii to be closer to family and becoming involved in ‘Aina-based organizations, Jeff sees music and dance as tools for collective imagination of a better and more equitable future.
