Ho'olaule'a: #DU10years Celebration

  • University Settlement 184 Eldridge Street New York, NY, 10002 United States (map)

Dancers Unlimted Celebrates 10 year anniversary event & Fundraiser, Ho’olauleʻa (‘celebration’)!

Dancers Unlimted began 10 years ago in Honolulu, Hawai’i as free youth classes on Furlough Fridays, when public schools were canceled due to budget cut. Since then the company has served over 3000 dancers, hosted 300 workshops, free classes, and offered dance scholarships for dancers in New York and Hawai’i, taking them internationally to China.

To celebrate, and continue providing for the community while raising funds; DU will kick off this 10 year anniversary with a reception of hors-d'oeuvres, live art, DJ / Party, and a Hula and Hawaiian culture class with special host, Kumu (teacher) Auli’i Aweau.

Our 2019-2020 crowdfunding campaign will be launched the same night, featuring special in-event donation rewards. Your generous support will help us continue planting seeds for another decade of dance-making and global community building. DU hopes to raise $20,000 to 1) unite its NYC and Hawaii dancers in February 2020, 2) continue creating relevant socially conscious work, 3) further develop community partnerships and 4) Keep expanding its international platforms and global creative influence.

The evening will end in a dance cypher, celebrating NYC’s street dance community and pioneers that have shaped our community.

Admissions: minimum $20 donations online or $25 door. SUPPORT & RSVP HERE.
