Alaina Cota

Alaina Cota is a movement artist, teacher, and choreographer whose work centers on the deep connection between mind and movement. Her practice is rooted in creating spaces where voices can be heard and expressed through the body, using dance as a tool for storytelling, healing, and empowerment. She holds an MFA in Dance and a BS in Dance and Psychology, and her training includes Ballet Chicago and Houston Ballet. Alaina has worked professionally with Ōkāreka Dance Company, Rainbow Dance Theatre, Polaris Dance Theatre, ELa FaLa Collective, and Cressida Danza Contemporánea. She is currently a company member with Tau Dance Theatre and Co-Artistic Director of Dancers Unlimited. Guided by a commitment to meaningful collaboration and embodies research, Alaina continues to explore hjow movement can reveal and transform personal and collective experience.
